Summit Engineering designs safe and effective wood truss bracing and lifting plans.
Pre-manufactured wood truss design and installation requires advanced planning and experienced execution. Long span wood truss design projects of over 60 feet in length should have an erection plan designed by a structural engineer. These long span wood trusses can be unwieldy or unsafe for site workers when not overseen by an experienced structural engineer.
When Summit Engineering performs a designs long span wood truss lift plan, we implement techniques to make the process safe and efficient. For example, we can design sheathing and bracing to be installed on the ground, which makes the truss less flexible and safer to install.
Our engineering service areas include:
Our lift plan installation at the Brentwood Fire Station in Brentwood, NH involved 90-foot long pre-manufactured wood trusses. Our engineering team designed a lift plan in which the sheathing and bracing were installed while the trusses were still on the ground. The truss assembly was lifted into place in the structure using a boom truck, while workers on the ground used taglines for maneuverability. Summit also engineered the truss for the lifting forces caused by the boom.
If you have a construction project that requires a lift plan for a wood truss design or installation, Summit’s experienced engineers are ready to get started. Contact us today to learn more about these and our other services.
